The guidedmissle destroyer is changing homeports and moving to a new base in japan. Rico bush is live at naval station norfolk with the navys explanation for the change. Rico katie, lex, the navy says the move is part of its strategy to secure peace, security, and stability in the asianpacific region. And, to protect American Allies with an overseas force structure change. The uss barry is scheduled to head out to norfolk in about four hours. The guidedmissile destroyer will swap with the uss lassen and become a member of the Forward Deployed naval forces in japan. The uss lassen will return to the United States and homeport in florida following a 10year forward deployment in japan.
