Monday: Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi – They’re Calling Me Home
The cofounder of the Carolina Chocolate Drops continues her exploration of American roots music, along with her Italian partner who explores folk and classical styles of elsewhere in the world. Recorded on an Irish farm!
Tuesday: Leftover Salmon – Brand New Good Old Days
Drew, Vince, Andy, Greg & Alwyn each have some wonderful new originals, plus fun covers from John Hartford and Conway Twitty/Ronnie Reno!

Monday: Jason Ringenberg – Rhinestoned
The cow-punk Scorcher is back, with songs ranging from Nashville music history, to the Civil Rights Movement, to an old Lakota/Oglala legend.
Tuesday: Nuevo – Nuevo
Nuevo is the brainchild of Dante Schwebel who you might know from Hacienda, City & Colour and Dan Auerbach s band, and Andrew Trube from Greyhounds and JJ Grey & MOFRO. They ve dreamed up a new take on Tex-Mex rock and soul.
Wednesday: Sunny War – Simple Syrup
This week on New Tunes at Two we ll explore four new releases.
Monday: David Gray – Skellig
A rather sparse, lush, warm mood from Wales’ Gray, inspired by the sparse, rugged, cold landscape of the rocky islands off of Ireland.
Tuesday: Andrew Marlin – Fable & Fire, and Witching Hour
Mandolin Orange’s mandolinist has released two all instrumental, all acoustic albums this month. Fable & Fire was recorded at Asheville’s Echo Mountain Studios.
Wednesday: Lake Street Dive – Obviously
Producer Mike Elizondo, a songwriting collaborator for Dr. Dre, Eminem, and 50 Cent and record producer for Fiona Apple and Mary J. Blige, “encouraged us to make bolder arrangement choices, take those chances, …and do things we’ve never done before, says bassist Bridget Kearney. We think you’ll hear that on this. The album will be released on March 12th.

Tuesday brings the self-titled album by Vivian Leva & Riley Calcagno. A foundation of old-time and classic country run throughout this wonderful debut (Vivian is the daughter of James Leva and Carol Elizabeth Jones, and Riley has performed with such artists as Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens, and Bruce Molsky), and Cajun roots great Joel Savoy produced this in his Louisiana studio.
