TAIPEI (The China Post) â The public funeral service of the train accident victims, took place at the Taipei City Mortuary Services Office First Funeral Parlor (èºåå¸ç«ç¬¬ä¸æ®¯å館) on Thursday.
The officials attending the mourning include President Tsai Ing-wen, Minister of Transportation and Communications Lin Chia-lung (æä½³é¾), Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung (é³æä¸), Taipei mayor Ko Wen-je (æ¯æå²) and New Taipei Mayor Hou You-yi (侯åå®).
On April 2, Taroko train derailment accidents in Hualien caused 49 deaths and more than 200 injuries.
Late Wednesday night, the 76 Monks announced that all the train accident victims’ bodies had been recovered.
In addition to the ceremony in Taipei, the rest two public memorial services will be held at Taitung Funeral Home (å°æ±å¸ç«æ®¯å館) and Hualien City funeral home (è±è®å¸ç«æ®¯åé

New Taipei Mayor Hou You-yi (侯友宜) went on a cycling tour on Tuesday morning (March 9) to experience the new bikeway, which connects all existing bike paths on the river bank. He told reporters that the 4.4-kilometer bikeway cost the city NT$61 million (US$2.1 million) to build, noting that the city has a total of 209 kilometers of riverside bike paths that go along four waterways.
