EAST HANOVER TWP. â The Land Use Planning Board gave final site plan approval to QuickChek to build a convenience store and gasoline station on the site now occupied by Gogel Tires on Route 10 at New Murray Road.
The board voted unanimously to approve the plan on Tuesday, Nov. 24, which will also mean the applicant must widen New Murray Road to allow an additional left-turn lane on what is known as the âBurger King jughandle,â a well-known failed intersection in the township that often has traffic backing up on Mount Pleasant Avenue at both sides of New Murray Road as drivers attempt to turn onto about only 30 yards of New Murray Road before it intersects with Route 10.
