NEW JERSEY – A winter weather advisory expanded to all of New Jersey Sunday now that ice and a winter storm have impacted the Garden State, and another possible storm is on the way. Road restrictions are in place and authorities have issued warnings
(see road impacts, ice totals below).
The National Weather Service says the possible ice storm prompted the agency to expand the winter weather advisory. Some snow and a lot of ice and sleet began impacting New Jersey after 1 p.m. on Saturday, and the storm was expected to last until, at the earliest, 10 a.m. on Sunday.

NEW JERSEY A winter storm hit New Jersey on Sunday after leaving at least 9 inches of snow in its wake. Road crews were dealing with the cleanup, a number of accidents, potential power outages and black ice on Sunday night and Monday morning, and the Garden State may face more trouble later in the week since additional winter weather is in the forecast

Patch kept track of the town-by-town snow totals since at least 9 inches of snow fell.

UPDATE 3:30 p.m. Tuesday: PennDOT has lifted the speed limit restrictions that were in place on several roadways in the region.
Due to the winter storm impacting the region, speed limits were reduced this morning to 45 MPH.
All speeds are restored to their usual posted limits.

The following tier restrictions are have been updated as of 2 PM:
The entire length of Interstate 84 in Lackawanna, Wayne and Pike counties will be placed on a 45 MPH speed restriction and a commercial vehicle right lane only restriction. The Tier 1 restriction has been lifted.

Snow flurries have begun in parts of the Lehigh Valley as the National Weather Service has ramped up its forecast to upward of more than two feet across the region.

Snow flurries have begun in parts of the Lehigh Valley as the National Weather Service has ramped up its forecast to 24 inches in some places.
A hazardous weather outlook remains for Northampton County through Sunday evening, as well as a winter storm warning from 5 p.m. Sunday to 1 p.m. Tuesday. The areas affected by the warning include Northampton, Lehigh and Warren counties, as well as the neighboring counties of Sussex and Morris in New Jersey and Monroe and Carbon counties in Pennsylvania.
