Syracuse’s Asa Goldstock, one of the best players in program history, isn’t your typical lacrosse player

Last year, Syracuse poured millions of dollars into renovations for the Dome. Among those changes were state-of-the-art video boards that broadcast every jaw-dropping replay – and each mistake – to every corner of the stands.
From the turf of Ernie Davis Legends Field, the screens look even more massive. Just ask Asa Goldstock, starting goalie for the Syracuse women’s lacrosse team. After almost every goal she lets in, Goldstock huddles with her team and then turns around and looks up. Her eyes scan the replay board projecting her latest mistake.
With a change at the top, Indiana is understandably recalibrating everything within the program.
When it comes to recruiting targets, that means taking a fresh look at who has been offered a scholarship to this point, as well assessing the top available prospects still on the board.
With two new assistant coaches on the the staff in Yasir Rosemond and Dane Fife, IU now has connections it didn’t have, and in large part because of that we’ve seen a wave of class of 2022 offers over the last few weeks.
With clear mutual interest when Archie Miller was still the head coach, 2022 forward Alex Karaban was generally thought to be at or near the top of Indiana’s priority list in the class a couple months ago.

ALBANY The University at Albany women’s lacrosse team played solid defense out the outset of its game with third-ranked Syracuse Tuesday afternoon. The Orange, though, weren’t giving up anything, either.
“I thought we started the game really strong, holding them [down] for about nine minutes,” UAlbany head coach Katie Rowan Thomson said. “And then that period of time when they went on a run, we weren’t putting away our opportunities. Decision-making in the first half could have been better.”
Syracuse strung together 12 unanswered first-half goals after the early stalemate, and while UAlbany answered with a run of its own to start the second half, it wasn’t enough to change its fate in a 16-6 non-conference loss at John Fallon Field.
