MLB Network announced on Wednesday that this Sunday’s MLB Network Showcase broadcast between the Yankees and Indians will be in a different format than what fans are typically used to.
The broadcast will be subtitled as “Clubhouse Edition,” and its goal will be to “share the organic conversations that take place among a group of former players as if they are watching a game from home.”
Stephen Nelson will host the broadcast, and will be joined by former MLB players Carlos Pena, John Smoltz, and CC Sabathia, in what MLB Network noted is his first involvement in a national MLB broadcast since his retirement.
The Devils COVID-19 postponement led to a NHL Network Showcase schedule swap Saturday.

On Monday, NHL Network announced a new “NHL Network Showcase” initiative, which will see them producing and calling 16 regular-season weekend afternoon live games from their headquarters in Secaucus, NJ for the first time. (Sister network MLB Network has regularly produced MLB and international games, with some of those originating from Secaucus, but this is new for NHL Network. They’ve done some telecasts of international hockey (including the World Juniors) from Secaucus, but their NHL game telecasts have usually just been retransmitted RSN feeds or retransmitted Canadian feeds.)
