The Manitoba government will begin its annual ice cutting program this week on the Red River from Selkirk to Netley Marsh to reduce the potential impacts of ice-jam related flooding. The ice cutting and breaking work will start on Feb. 20 and is expected to be completed on March 15.
Amphibex machines and remote-controlled cutters will take to the Red River on Feb. 20 to start breaking up ice jams. It said the work should be wrapped up by March 15.
