mayor martin walsh and police commissioner william evans had community meetings with clergy, civil rights organizations earlier in the week to plan, to work to make sure that boston would send a message that there would not be the kind of violence that was tragically experienced in virginia. so as i m looking at the march, i m impressed by the level of organization, and i want to say a point about police, because part of the national conversation is about in general critiquing police for the use of excessive force and its militarization. what we re witnessing now is actually quite impressive that the boston police department has done to date up until this point an excellent job in managing this so there is not an overreaction or, as was the case in charlottesville, sort of an
