Recently the Nelson Leafs hosted an appreciation game night which attracted lots of fans and assisted with their fundraising efforts. Dani Evans of Nelson is gracious for the support received three years ago from the Nelson Friends of the Family charity.
To express her gratitude, Evans, along side her faithful service dog Buddy, plans to walk 100 kilometers in 31 days to raise money for the Nelson charity.
“Three years ago I had to travel to Kelowna, Vancouver and Edmonton when I was diagnosed with a rare form of Macular Degeneration,” the 12-year-old Evans said on the GoFundMe page.
