Perform in Perth has kicked off its annual festival as it celebrates its centenary year.
The annual competition, first held in 1921, began online on Monday with percussionists performing throughout the day.
Day one of the festival began with the youngest musicians performing, with more experienced playing as the day progressed.
‘Significant interest’ in online festival
Secretary of Perform in Perth Eileen Waterson praised the musicians who have participated in the festival so far.
Pre-determination hearing held for Aberdeen Silverburn House site

Silverburn House in Bridge of Don, which was knocked down in 2019, is hoped to be turned into a housing development.
A pre-development hearing on a proposed housing development in an Aberdeen community has been held.
Councillors on Aberdeen City Council’s planning committee held a pre-determination meeting for home plans at Silverburn House on Claymore Drive, Bridge of Don.
It is planned to build between 100 and 150 new homes on the site, which was previously an office building occupied last by Baker Hughes before it was demolished in 2019.
A statutory consultation took place for the development plans between May and August last year, with responses currently being reviewed by planning officers.

Murals would be painted on Clifton Court, and a collage would be created along Great Northern Road.
An art project and walking trail celebrating one of Aberdeen’s most famous sons would attract visitors from all over the world, a local councillor has claimed.
Community campaigners are aiming to honour football legend Denis Law – widely hailed as one of Scotland and Manchester United’s greatest players – through murals on the side of Clifton Court, close to where the former striker grew up.
There are also moves to create a collage on a wall along Great Northern Road and a 10-stop walking trail to take visitors through Denis’s childhood haunts in Printfield.
