Christine ran unsuccessfully for state Senate District 15 in the Republican primary last spring. Current County Commissioner Steve Ammons will step down from the commission at the end of May to become CEO of the Birmingham Business Alliance.
Current Jefferson County Commissioner Steve Ammons has been named CEO of the Birmingham Business Alliance. He will leave the commission at the end of May, and a special election will be held to determine his replacement later this year.
The election will cost the city of Vestavia Hills about $75,000, which will be reimbursed by the Board of Education. The city will use Jefferson County voting equipment.

Veronica Walker has competed for the past three years with USA Archery’s Regional Elite Development (RED) Southeast team, and she traveled to Colombia in November 2021 to compete in the World Archery Continental Qualifier Event.
