On 20 December 2021, ARTICLE 19 filed an expert opinion with Van 5th Assize Court regarding the case of five journalists from Mezopotamya News Agency (MA), who have been prosecuted for terrorism offences in Turkey.  In our expert opinion, we argue that the provisions of the Turkish Criminal Code, under which the journalists are charged, do not comply with international and European standards on freedom of expression.
