Good evening. While americans are still absorbing the blunt force of this latest mass shooting, tonight a lot of the details of what we thought we knew about the gun massacre at the washington, d. C. Navy yard have changed. The new director of the fbi briefed a group of journalists today including our justice correspondent Pete Williams and he laid out a version of events that differs from what we were first told and first reported. The fbi director james comey says the Surveillance Video and physical evidence show that nearly half an hour passed from the time the shooting started until the police teams found aaron alexis and fired back. The fbi director says alexis began firing his shotgun shortly after 8 00 a. M. In a fourth floor hallway. Comey says alexis was wandering the halls hunting for people to shoot with no signs of targeting anyone in particular. Washingto

And just three days ago, alexis visited a gun shop in Northern Virginia. There he purchased a remington 870 shotgun, and approximately two boxes of ammunition. We also now know tonight that alexis had a long record of disciplinary issues. Including those eight instances of misconduct while on duty in the navy. And the spokesman for the navy just moments ago telling cnn that that misconduct, included not showing up for work and insubordination. Injured. Were still learning more. Phil keating is live in florida with the latest on that. Good morning. Dramatic situation going on within the past hour in pensacola, florida. A huge military footprint for the United States pentagon. This active shooter apparently started firing this morning. We have been confirmed with the police, Sheriffs Department. The shooter is now dead. According to local media reports five people have been taken to a local hospital there with injuries. But the only fatality that we are aware of at this point is the shooter. At first there were wondering whether there were more than one active shooter. Turns out at this point it looks like there is just one active shooter. It is a very big air station, home to the blue angels. And 16,000 Navy Personnel work there as well as roughly 7,000 civilian workers.
