On April 5, Airman Nathan Burke became unresponsive as he was completing a training evolution in the pool, according to the Navy. “Paramedics responded and achieved a spontaneous return of circulation and pulse. He was transported to the hospital and was placed on life-support,” the Navy said in a news release Wednesday. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family, shipmates and friends of Airman Burke during this extremely difficult time.”
A U.S. Navy airman died this week after a training exercise at Naval Aviation Schools Command at Naval Air Station Pensacola.
Airman Nathan Burke, 30, of Lubbock Texas, became unresponsive April 5 during a training evolution in the pool at Aviation Rescue Swimmer School, according to a news release from the Navy.
Paramedics responded and achieved a spontaneous return of circulation and pulse before Burke was transported to Baptist Hospital and placed on life support.
Burke died Tuesday at the hospital. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family, shipmates and friends of Airman Burke during this extremely difficult time, reads a statement from the Navy.
