Author: Dana Thiede Updated: 8:04 AM CST March 8, 2021 MINNEAPOLIS A coalition of more than a dozen social justice and community groups says it will stage a protest on March 8, demanding justice for George Floyd as the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin begins.  The demonstration is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. outside the Hennepin County Government Center, as jury selection gets underway in Chauvin s murder trial. He is the officer seen in video kneeling on Floyd s neck for nearly nine minutes, an act prosecutors say caused Floyd s death.

Chase holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and American Indian studies from the University of North Dakota and a Juris Doctor of Law degree, emphasizing Federal Indian Law from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law.

Media's disgraceful headlines after Minneapolis cops kill black man who tried to kill them

Minneapolis Police Chief Arradondo says police shot a suspect – a black man who is a felon who fired first at police. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The officers and a passenger were unharmed. The BCA is investigating, and Chief Arradondo will release footage of the incident today. The media is reporting this story in a disgraceful manner. Their headlines report a man was shot and killed by the police at a traffic spot. Then they go back to George Floyd to draw an inappropriate comparison, conflating the two events. They want the headlines to get clicks, but people just go with the headlines:
