Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire National Vacuum Equipment Inc, a US manufacturer of industrial vacuum pumps and packages for mobile use on tanker trucks.
What’s the story behind the sign at National Vacuum?
If you’re traveling to Ward’s Supermarket and rounding the corner on Northwest Sixth Street onto Northwest 23rd Avenue, it’s hard to miss the red, white and blue-decorated National Vacuum store, which always has two shining red and blue 1959 Cadillacs out front.
Another thing that’s hard to miss the ever-changing marquee sign, often filled with dad jokes, posted outside the shop. A recent one read: “Has anyone tried unplugging the USA and plugging it back in?”
The man behind the signs is Bob deRochemont, the owner at National Vacuum, 2225 NW Sixth St.
