STAR PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Sustaining Technical and Analytic Resources (STAR) is a project of the Public Health Institute (PHI) in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). STAR is a Global Health talent hub. Through fellowships, internships, and strategic partnerships, STAR supports building the capacity of diverse global health professionals and organizations at all levels to make inclusive, collaborative, and innovative contributions to global health. STAR participants collaborate in the development of systems and tools that strengthen and sustain the local and global health response.

STATEMENT OF SENATOR RISA HONTIVEROS ON PREVENTING THE COLLAPSE OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM
World Health Day 2021 is a somber day for the country as we battle the worst COVID-19 surge in the whole of Southeast Asia.
Today, we must act on our hopes of recovery by confronting the truth: Incompetence is killing the Filipino people. The lack of humility of the IATF to acknowledge its shortcomings to this day is why our hospitals are overflowing now. If our healthcare system fully collapses, it will be the beginning of a chaotic chapter of great disease and illness. I cannot imagine how long it will take to write finish to it. Government must also be held accountable for the consequences that go beyond our COVID-19 response.

The TB Europe Coalition (“TBEC”), non-profit foundation registered in the Netherlands, is pleased to announce a call for expression of interest for
expert sociologist for baseline situation assessment using Annex 2 of the Multisectoral accountability framework to accelerate progress to end TB (MAF-TB) in the framework of the implementation of 2 projects: Challenge Facility for Civil Society (CFCS) grant, provided by the Stop TB Partnership, and grant provided by Eurasian Harm Reduction Association (EHRA).

Yangon – The
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director in Myanmar, Ms. Aler Grubbs, introduced the new USAID Local Action Toward Tuberculosis-Free Myanmar project to the Yangon Regional Health Department, development partners and local civil society organizations. Dr. Win Naing, Director, Yangon Regional Health Department, Ministry of Health and Sports opened the event.
The new three-year project marks a milestone in the U.S.-Myanmar partnership to prevent and treat tuberculosis. The project is being implemented by a Myanmar civil society organization, Pyi Gyi Khin, to empower people affected by tuberculosis to take a more active role in advocating for their wellbeing and in the design and delivery of health services that meet the needs of people in their communities.
