The United States formally challenged Canadian dairy quotas on Wednesday – the first enforcement action under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) since the deal took effect in July. As the Canadian Press reports, U.S. officials argue the tariff rate quotas Canada uses to determine the amount of products like milk, cheese, and ice cream that can be imported into the country unfairly limit American dairy producers abilities to export.
