A group of registered nurses filed with the National Labor Relations Board Monday in order to hold an election to join the Massachusetts Nurses Association. Of the 550 nurses at the hospital, about 70% have already signed onto the idea of a union, according to Massachusetts Nurses Association spokesman Joe Markman.
A hospital spokesperson declined to comment Monday, saying the hospital’s focus is on staff and patient safety during the pandemic.
