The Maharashtra Government had constituted a committee to examine three alternate alignments which found the present proposed alignment as the most suitable from forest and wildlife points of view.
The Shinde-Fadnavis government, which has recently given all clearances including handing over of 4.2 hectares land in Bandra-Kurla Complex for the much ambitious Rs 1.1 lakh crore Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, on Monday issued a government resolution on immediately giving Rs 6 crore to the National High Speed Railway Corporation Ltd (NHSRCL) to pick up state government’s equity shares.
JICA has been supporting the project for the Mumbai - Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail by Providing ODA loans of JPY 250,000 million (approximately INR 18,000 crore) in total since 2017.
