The University of California is joining a national initiative to offer free online courses to students at low-income high schools across the country beginning next year.
The UC Board of Regents convened Tuesday and Wednesday to discuss funding and investments, listen to wage concerns, address mandatory compliance training and more.
It would require all eight Ivy League schools to enroll only 682 more Pell Grant recipients to increase the number of lower-income students at their institutions by 5%.
