Visits to museums and archaeological monuments, such as Machu Picchu, within regions under very high and extreme alert, will be suspended from January 31 to February 14, in order to comply with the mandatory social immobilization decreed by the Government to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Ministry of Culture (Mincul) has reported.
Mincul-operated museums that will be open to guests include Chan Chan Site Museum, the Huacas of the Sun and Moon Archaeological Complex, and the Huaca El Brujo Archaeological Complex in La Libertad region, as well as the Brüning National Archaeological Museum in Lambayeque region.
