book nation of wusses i had the top ten reasons politicians are wusses. the number one reason was when they vote against something and take the benefits or go to a ribbon cutting. i mentioned representative ryan sending the letters. had he read my book he never would have given the wrong answer. he would have known his answer and what he did. i have to go back to put you on the hot seat here. again, he says he did not make these requests and records show he was vetted by the romney campaign. did this not come up? i don t know the facts of that case. having worked on the hill, i ve run a washington, d.c. office for a member of congress. i think a lot of stuff does go on at the staff level that maybe he didn t know about. not knowing the facts of the case i think it is entirely plausible he maybe didn t know. he didn t read the letter. he signed the letter. didn t he read it? i didn t read it and i don t know enough about the case. paul ryan did not sign a letter he doesn t r

democrat ed rendell endorsed hillary clinton in 2008. but author of the new book nation of wusses gives the president credit. he has acted courageously. simpson-bowles he was slow to the market. he eventually did come out for simpson-bowles solution when he and boehner came this close to the big deal. he was slow. initial leadership may have helped. axelrod said if president embraced the tough medicine, democrats would have fled over the domestic spending and entitlement cut. republicans might run away due to tax increases, maybe, but the bottom line is the president is vulnerable on the deficit. he promised to cut it in half in his first term. he hasn t come close. bret: ed henry on the north lawn. thank you. tomorrow we look at romney s
