Letting Our Lives Speak: Some Ways to Fight the Culture Wars
Traditionalists of whatever political stripe seem to have given up on winning the culture wars waged over the last five decades or so. The past year in particular has brought setbacks and defeats: the removal or desecration of statues of American heroes, schools erasing the names of some of these same heroes, classics removed from English literature reading lists, and professors and writers attacked for defending the heritage of history and literature.
Pessimists say the war is lost, that we should run up the white flag and acknowledge the reality that the deconstructionists and radicals, having taken control of much of our media, Hollywood, schools, corporations, high tech, and government, have won.

The publishing industry has been on a roll lately. The number of great books by Black writers or about Black issues have been at an all-time high. Let’s keep that going by reading some of the gems we’ve listed here.
Some are new voices, some old, and there are a few you may never have heard of before. We encourage everyone – readers and nonreaders alike – to give these a chance.

With the explosion of the Black Lives Matter movement in what some have called a Year of Racial Reckoning, many Americans are reading more books and seeking more information to understand race relations, racism and white privilege.
Blacks may be trying to learn about their history, or find support and validation for their experiences. Whites and others may be trying to gain a better understanding of why things are the way they are, and how they might become allies.
newspapers to continue its coverage. but very much was the atmosphere like to the printers on the verge of war and just after war starts? well, all of these massachusetts at printers in boston and in a couple of the port towns to the north, salem. and when the war started it was, i think there were leaks from the british government that were telling the general and the roh government to start cracking down. the printers, the most radical printers, they got there press is out of boston just a few days in early april 1775. snuck out around the same time. isiah thomas back of the day of lexington and concord crossing the river. so they were outside of boston as the siege began. they had that outside of boston. quickly set up their prices in watertown in order to serve the patriot cause. another said a printer s came down from salem and renamed their newspaper the independent chronicle to, again, support the patriot cause. one of the ways is supported the cause, the trade rep
