UW lands Cincinnati big man

UW lands Cincinnati big man After losing Nate Reuvers, Micah Potter and Aleem Ford after the season, the Wisconsin men’s basketball team landed Cincinnati 7’1 center Chris Vogt from the NCAA’s transfer portal. It gives the Badgers an experienced big man going into next season with a number of young players returning. Steven Crowl (12 games), Ben Carlson (7 games) and Carter Gilmore (9 games) are returning big men to the Badger roster, with a four-man freshman class adding to the mix. Vogt averaged 11 points and 5.9 rebounds two years ago, then dropped to 5 points and 3.5 rebounds last season. When his coach at Cincinnati, John Brannen was fired, Vogt decided to transfer.  He becomes the third transfer to join the Badgers, joining guard Jahcobi Neath from Wake Forest and guard Isaac Lindsey of UNLV.

Briefly: Davison coming back to Badgers

Davison made the announcement on his Instagram account on Wednesday morning. The NCAA didn’t count the 2020-21 season against players’ eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic, giving Davison and UW’s six other seniors a chance to return for another campaign. Davison is the only one to do so, with Trevor Anderson (Valparaiso) and Walt McGrory (South Dakota) electing to transfer elsewhere and Nate Reuvers, Micah Potter, D’Mitrik Trice and Aleem Ford deciding to begin their professional careers. Davison is one of four players in program history to play at least 4,000 minutes, a group that also includes Josh Gasser, Nigel Hayes, Alando Tucker, Ethan Happ, D’Mitrik Trice, Bronson Koenig and Mike Wilkinson.

Wisconsin guard Brad Davison announces he’s returning for another season

By Jaymes Langrehr Apr 14, 2021 12:22 PM MADISON, Wis. Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball senior guard Brad Davison says he will be returning for another season in Madison. Davison made the announcement Wednesday with a statement posted on the Wisconsin Basketball Twitter account, saying there is no place he would rather be than Madison. “Being a Badger is a privilege. I am grateful for one last ride with my coaches and teammates this upcoming season!” Davison wrote. “I would not want to go out any other way than playing in front of Badger Nation at the Kohl Center!” Davison was eligible for a 5th year after the NCAA decided to allow players to have an extra year of eligibility due to the 2019-2020 season being cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
