Nashville Home Depot employee shot twice in store s parking lot
A Home Depot employee is being treated at a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries Wednesday after being shot twice in the store s parking lot, according to Metro Nashville Police.
MNPD reported the 18-year-old shooting victim was leaving work from a Home Depot located on the 2500 block of Powell Avenue and heading to his car when a person in a red Nissan Versa drove up and fired several shots at him. Police said the victim was involved in a dispute with another teen, which is part of the ongoing investigation.
One person was killed Monday morning in a crash that closed Highway 46 to traffic in both directions in Dickson County.
Lewis Newcomb Jr., 36, of Antioch was killed in the crash, THP reported. Newcomb was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident.
Newcomb was traveling north on State Route 46 South on his motorcycle around 5 a.m. when a vehicle making a left turn onto the highway from Abiff Road failed to yield right of way, THP stated in its report.
The vehicle s driver, a 54-year-old man from Burns, Tennessee, suffered minor injuries.
A witness at the scene said Newcomb s motorcycle passed their vehicle in the turning lane at a very high rate of speed prior to the crash, according to the report.
