Charles Krug Winery Lot Receives $10,000 Winning Bid in Premiere

Napa Valley s Oldest Winery Donated 30 Bottles of Library Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon February 25, 2021 Charles Krug Winery is excited to announce that its recent lot of library wines raised $10,000 in the Premiere Napa Valley Auction. On February 20th, Charles Krug joined a list of nearly 100 exclusive library wine lots up for virtual auction, replacing the traditional Premiere Napa Valley event that has taken place in February for the previous 40 years.  The Charles lot featured six decades of Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon from the winery, an iconic label from the region. First made in 1944 by Peter and Robert Mondavi at Charles Krug, the Vintage Selection Cabernet has since represented the finest grapes from the extensive vineyard holdings of the Mondavi family. The following bottles were included in the lot:

Napa Valley Library Wine Auction raises $933,000 - The Drinks Business

The Drinks Business 22 February 2021 By Lucy Shaw The inaugural Napa Valley Library Wine Auction, which took place online from 11-20 February, has raised US$933,000 in proceeds. Run by Zachys auction house, the auction attracted over 500 bidders from around the world, including bidders from 41 US states. “This auction showcased the calibre of ageworthy wines Napa Valley is known for, and demonstrated that collectors around the world believe in the investment value of the Napa Valley name,” said Jeff Zacharia, president of Zachys. Among the most popular lots to go under the hammer was a 15 magnum vertical of Shafer, which sold for US$42,000; three magnums of Screaming Eagle 2015, which went for US$40,000; and a 10 magnum vertical of Bryant Estate, which also sold for US$40,000.
