HENDERSON â Beginning in June, The Dispatch will combine its Tuesday/Wednesday and Thursday/Friday papers, while continuing to publish its Weekend Edition on Saturdays.
The change will enable the paper to return to two sections on the days it publishes, giving readers a more robust edition, Publisher Nancy Wykle said.
The change does not mean a reduction in local news coverage. âWe are repackaging how we deliver news and advertising,â Wykle said. âWe will continue to give readers the same level of local news to which they are accustomed, and remain the paper of record for our region.â
The Dispatch will continue to report breaking news and update news coverage daily online at hendersondispatch.com. Obituaries will be posted daily online, Monday through Friday. We also will run two daysâ worth of comics in each edition, along with the regular puzzles and other features readers have come to expect.
Editorâs note: We have changed the format of the Vance County Schools Student Spotlight this year to focus instead on the faculty and staff who have worked so hard under extraordinary circumstances to ensure our students are still receiving quality instruction, food and interaction, all while dealing with how the pandemic is personally affecting them, too.
