In celebration of the holiday season, we asked Patch readers to send us photos of their handmade gingerbread house creations. And, boy, were we impressed! The entries included edible replicas of local landmarks, a gingerbread greenhouse and even Hogwarts Castle. Check out some of our favorites below, and you might even be inspired to create your own.

Have you ever seen Mrs. Claus greenhouse? Created from a handmade pattern with gelatin windows, this gingerbread greenhouse is where Mrs. Claus tends to the winter evergreens and poinsettias while Santa is busy loading his sleigh.

Nancy McGuire of Illinois: Making Gingerbread houses every year is our family tradition. I bake gingerbread pieces all week so we can all make our houses. We all have so much fun making the houses and of course eating the candy as we go along.
