SOUTH HURON – The COVID-19 pandemic means we are living in uncertain times, and South Huron’s mayor says he is proud of the way residents in this community have risen to the occasion.
Looking back on 2020, George Finch said the year was “challenging, to say the least,” but he said South Huron has “good staff and an incredible community to get us all through it together.”

When lockdowns first started last year after the coronavirus spread, municipalities had to react quickly. While Finch said municipalities were able to continue work that involved roads, water and sewage, they weren’t allowed to issue building permits at first, which delayed development.
