Students from Our Lady of Lourdes French Immersion Catholic School celebrated Pink Shirt Day on Feb. 24. The annual event began in Canada in 2007 after two students, David Shepherd and Travis Price, took a stand against bullying when another student was harassed and threatened for wearing pink. “The annual ‘Pink Shirt Day’ dedicates the day to acknowledge anti-bullying strategies within our students and the classroom environment,” said principal Stephane Prevost. “Every year progresses our teachings to a different level as we witnessed the immediate understanding of acquired knowledge from students and their growth in the various school wide activities planned.
