Superadobe, cheap construction technique becoming popular in Mexico 3 minutes read
By Mariana Gonzalez-Marquez
Guadalajara, Mexico, Feb 1 (efe-epa).- Jessica and Salvador decided to move to the Mexican countryside and live in a house they built themselves using so-called “superadobe,” an environmentally friendly material and a technique that they are now teaching to anyone who wants to live in a more ecologically sound manner.
Houses made of superadobe can weather bad storms and even powerful earthquakes because of their structure, EFE learned from Jessica Romero, who along with her husband Salvador Montaño runs the Igloo Kokolo environmental learning center in Ribera de Chapala, in the western state of Jalisco.

Iran s cartoon village overlooking the Persian Gulf Jennifer Newton for MailOnline
It s black and white – these domes make for an eye-popping place to stay.
There are around 200 of them, and they form a cartoonish holiday retreat overlooking the Persian Gulf on the Iranian island of Hormuz, with multi-coloured exteriors and interiors in shades of bright blue, yellow, red and green.
Eighty-five guests can be accommodated in 17 suites, costing from $20 (£14), in 130 interconnected domes of varying sizes decked out with locally produced furniture. The remaining domes contain restaurants, cafes, shops, a spa, a gallery, a prayer room and tourist information.

Lady Tarin
Before talking about this new photo book series, can you tell us how you started your journey in publishing and when you decided to found Agenzia NFC?
Amedeo: Our story started, and grew, in a moment of deep economic crisis. I founded Agenzia NFC (a communications agency) in 2010, seeing an opportunity to position myself in a sector that was perhaps a little “tired”: we needed a smarter, more dynamic reality… a couple of years later, in 2012, I followed my great passion for books and decided to bet on printed paper, and therefore to found NFC Edizioni.
