Kachin Baptist Convention Calls for Prayer and Advocacy for Myanmar
04/15/2021 Myanmar (International Christian Concern) – The leaders of Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) are calling for prayer and advocacy amid the deteriorating situation in Myanmar, two months after the military junta staged a coup to topple the civilian government.
Rev. Dr. Hkalam Samson and Rev. Hpauyawng Tu Mai, the President and General Secretary of KBC in Myanmar, called on Christians around the world to pray and advocate for an end to the military rule that has taken place since February 1.
In a written statement dated April 7, KBC said,
“Under the rule of militarized dictatorship, the civilians of Burma/Myanmar are denied all fundamental human rights stated by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
