Wednesday at the prison in smyrna. It was given to his son during a ceremony for cadets who completed initial training. There were many here to show their support for the floyd family and that they did with a huge round of applause after the commissioner promoted floyd to lieutenant. Action news was there today as floyd was salute from the medical exams office in wilmington to the funeral home in dover. Its been a horrific three days for the department. Floyd was one of four hostages taken by inmates. There were cuts. We have less correctional officer positions now across the state than we had in 2008 when governor markel took office. Reporter he says the focus now is to figure out which inmates were responsible for the attack.
