The IMD issued an orange alert, stating the likelihood of hailstorm and thunderstorm coupled with gusty winds in Vidarbha region's Amravati, Akola, Bhandara, Chandrapur, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia and Yavatmal districts.
In Raigad district, where the weather bureau had issued a red alert, data furnished by the Maharashtra government’s department of agriculture showed that 144.7 mm of rain was received on Thursday till evening.
