this week, ebert wrote what would become his final words. i ll see you at the movies. joining me now on the phone is director michael moore, and the creator of sneak previews a show that introduced viewers to the team of siskel and ebert. welcome to you both. michael, a very sad day for anyone that loves movies today. what was your reaction to the great roger ebert? well, it s very sad to hear of his passing, although he and others, myself included, knew that it was going to happen at some point. he had been battling various forms of cancer for a number of years, but he didn t give up. he kept working right to the end, and you know, he was such an incredible supporter of the underdog, the underdog film maker, the independent film maker, documentaries, foreign films. he and gene siskel brought the

i saying it right? it stars javier bardem, a golden globe nominee for beast foreign film. bardem works in a shady business, learns he has cancer, and has to make sure his kids will be taken care of. what did you think about this one? i ve been reading rave reviews about his performance? yeah, this is another movie, it s not exactly a fun night out, but really javier bardem s performance really makes the film. i mean, i think he has one of the great faces in movies today. i mean, you look at that profile, with he s like this bruised lion. and you know, of course, i ve never seen him give a bad performance, but this one in particular, i really think this is super. so do you recommend it doesn t look like a film to bring kids to. would you recommend teens seeing this? who would you recommend seeing this movie, if anyone? it sounds like you liked the performance, but would you go see it on new year s day?
officials over at the white house. we have to look at the internet because a lot of bad things are happening to young kids and young minds, and their minds are being formed. and we have to do something about maybe what they re seeing and how they re seeing it, and also video games. i m hearing more and more people say the level of of vviolence o video games is really shaping young people s thoughts. then you go a further step and that s the movies. you see these movies, they re so violent and yet a kid is able to see the movie if sex isn t involved. but killing is involved. and maybe they have to put a rating system for that. and, you know, you get into a whole, very complicated big deal. the fact is you re having movies come out that are so violent with the killing and everything else that maybe that s another thing we have to discuss. a lot of people are saying you have these movies today where you can go and have the child
