BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ- Netflix’s “Ginny and Georgia” provided a sense of familiarity to many fans because of its similarity to “Gilmore Girls” (2000-2007). Additionally, both shows center around a strong mother and daughter dynamic with a small age gap.
Although the shows are set up in the same format, “Ginny and Georgia” moves a lot further into topics that Gilmore Girls would normally stray from, providing a more modern perspective.
After the sudden death of her husband, Georgia moves to Welsbury, Massachusetts. This uproots the lives of her two children, 15-year-old Ginny and 9-year-old Austin, portrayed by Antonia Gentry and Diesel La Torraca respectively.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Students of Governor Livingston High School Environmental Club recently volunteered to put on their masks to perform an important operation: Planting a native dogwood tree, a gift of Union County, in celebration of Earth Day. The operation involved learning and doing.
Students Kyra Ford, Kendall Torres, Emilie Wagman and Serena Yee learned why the spot chosen would be a good place to plant this tree. Then they learned how to remove it from its container safely and at what depth to plant it. They shoveled the soil back around the root ball and watered and mulched.

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ- Women’s history month was first celebrated in 1911 in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland by men and women who campaigned for women’s rights. This international celebration has grown dramatically since and, today, almost all countries celebrate the influence and importance of female figures throughout history.
Two influential female leaders at Governor Livingston, Guidance Counselor Michelle Morin and senior Caitlin Dougherty, continue to use their unique experiences to offer young girls valuable lessons.
Morin, who is in her 16th year as a counselor and is also the adviser of Student Ambassadors, has seen firsthand the importance of female representation in the workplace. “It’s important in a learning environment,” she said, “for all people, including females, to have people to look up to, to emulate,” Morin said.
