CORONAVIRUS cases in Glasgow only dipped slightly in the final week of Tier 4 lockdown restrictions across the city. In the seven days before Friday December 11, 938 positive cases were recorded in the city – compared to 976 the week before. The positivity rate per population – the number of people out of every 100,000 who are found to be infected – dipped from 154.2 to 148.2. Meanwhile, the test positivity rate – the number of people who have the virus from the total number of tests taken, which is a key metric for ministers – actually INCREASED from 5.4% in the week before December 4 to 6.3% in the seven days until December 11.
