The Mount Carmel Police Department in Illinois is recognizing an officer and his family after they gave back to the community in a special way. Police say K9 Officer Daniel Hopper and his wife Alyssa bought two children in the area new bikes after their bikes were stolen off the porch.
Illinois State Police have arrested a Mount Carmel man following a raid at his home Wednesday Morning. At 6:00 a.m., Illinois State Police DCI Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force agents, Illinois State Police Special Weapons and Tactics, and Mount Carmel Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant in the 100 block of North Walnut Street in Mount Carmel. On the scene, officers arrested 47-year-old Matthey L. Majors of Mount Carmel. Majors faces counts of aggravated delivery of meth, armed violence, possession of meth, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and possession of ammo by a felon. Majors is currently being held at the Wabash County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
