The City of Vancouver will use part of a $51.5-million federal rapid housing fund to buy a hotel just off Victoria Drive on Kingsway to convert into 65 housing units for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

12 campers on west side of Strathcona Park ordered to move
The Vancouver Park Board has given approximately 12 homeless encampment residents on the west side of Strathcona Park until 10 a.m. Wednesday to remove their shelters, in an effort to return the space back to the community.

In an effort to reclaim half of Strathcona Park, the Vancouver Park Board has installed a fence and notified approximately 12 residents of a homeless encampment on the west side of the park they must vacate by next Wednesday.
