A man was shot five times and it happened an hour and a half ago in the middle of Rittenhouse Square. Live at the scene is action News Reporter dann cuellar. Tell us what happened, dan. Reporter well, jim, police remain on the scene here in the park at Rittenhouse Square gathering evidence. They have dispatched a couple of k9s to assist in this highly unusual crime here in the park. What we know is this, police say at 9 30 two men armed with handguns were attempting to rob a group of four or five people in the park. Thats when a 39yearold man riding his bike noticed who was going on, got off his bike and tried to stop the robbery. The gunman turned around and shot him multiple times. People in the park tell me at first they thought the shots were fireworks. Then realized they were gunshots and ran for cover
