The pinwheels serve as a visual reminder of the child abuse that continues to occur in the community. The pinwheels were introduced as a national symbol because, by nature, the pinwheel connotes playfulness, joy, and childhood a reminder of the great childhoods all children deserve.
“If they hadn’t made that quick decision, I don’t think I’d be here,” Ron said from his hospital bed. “I credit all of the people here at this hospital for where I am right now.”
