(WAFF) - A Decatur man faces multiple charges following a home break-in on Monday. On May 10, Decatur Police Department officers responded to a home burglary report on 16th Ave SE. According to responding officers, a male identified as Michael Allen Tucker was attempting to force his way into a bedroom where the home’s resident was hiding. The resident told officers she locked herself in the bedroom after seeing Tucker break into the residence.

(WAFF) - More than a dozen people were arrested when police raided an illegal gambling spot in Decatur on Wednesday. Decatur police recovered 26 gambling machines, three firearms, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and over $20,000 when they searched a facility on 21st Avenue SW. Police served a search warrant at the residence after receiving numerous tips about illegal gambling taking place there. A total of seventeen people were also arrested during the search. Police did not say how long the gambling has been taking place or who was behind the makeshift casino. They tell us this is an ongoing investigation and more charges are expected.

(WAFF) - Officers responded to a burglary in progress call at a home near Morgan Ave in Decatur on April 9. During the course of the investigation, officers determined that Sha’King Stover, 32, unlawfully entered his ex-girlfriend’s residence. Officers said after entering her home Stover assaulted her and stole her cell phone. According to DPD, Stover also allegedly assaulted another woman inside the residence prior to fleeing the scene. Decatur police located Stover near the residence with the stolen cell phone in his possession.

(WAFF) - Officers with the Decatur Police Department responded to a report of sexual assault at a Decatur home on April 11. Decatur police were dispatched to 200-block of Prospect Drive SE where officers found a woman who told them she had been sexually assaulted. According to officers, the woman told them Brandon Handy, 29, was the suspect in this incident. Authorities said Handy fled scene prior to officers arriving. Officers located him and charged with first-degree rape and sodomy.
