After the withdrawal of monsoon, Mumbai nearly goes in to hibernation for the next 6 months, till mid-April. Rains are witnessed only in case of a stray post monsoon storm throng the Konkan coast. Mercury picks up a rising trend till November end and drops thereafter till January, to pick up again later.
During 24 to 48 hours monsoon may withdraw from entire Uttar Pradesh, parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, North Chhattisgarh, most parts of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. And in subsequent two days it may withdraw from West Bengal, parts of Odisha and Maharashtra.
Mumbai rains are expected to continue for the next 3-4 days until October 12. Moreover, moderate showers are expected to be seen over the commercial capital today and tomorrow mostly during the evening and night hours, accompanied with lightning and thunderstorms as well.
Southwest Monsoon Withdrawal: Simultaneous existence of both the monsoons is not realistic and therefore is best avoided. The onset of northeast monsoon is not considered before 10th October and the normal date is taken as 20thOctober, subject to fulfilment of set of environmental conditions.
Monsoon in Delhi: Monsoon will bid its late but final adieu to Delhi in the next 72 hours, until next year. Till then, Delhiites can wait for a couple of months for those coffee and tea laden wintry evenings and nights.
