After the state government announced reopening of schools amid the COVID-19 pandemic for classes IX through XII from November 23 last year, it has been declared in a statement by state education minister
Varsha Gaikwad on Friday that from January 27, the same can begin for classes from V to VIII as well.
She confirmed that the department had proposed this reopening to Chief Minister
Uddhav Thackeray, and received a nod. Gaikwad said, “In our continuation plan to reopen schools in aphase-wise manner, the final decision for the next phase has been taken on Friday to reopen schools for classes V to VIII from January 27 onwards, after approval from the CM.”

Environment minister Bikram Keshari Arukha inagurated the tiger safari bus stand and exit gate at the zoo.
Veteran Congress leader and Jatni MLA Suresh Kumar Routray (known as Sura Routray) and Additional Chief Secretary Dr Mona Sharma also attended the event.
As per officials, Sneha mated with normal coloured tiger Saif and gave birth to the cubs. Tiger Saif was brought from Hyderabad zoo under the animal exchange programme for bloodline change.
The zoo has the distinction of becoming the first zoo in the world where white tiger and melanistic tiger born in captivity.
