Pro-independence song to be released as single after huge online interest

A PRO-INDEPENDENCE song written by a Scot, an Englishman and an Aussie is to be released as a single after recording more than 25,000 views since it was posted on Facebook just over a week ago. The poignant lyrics of Travel With Me Scotland were written by Englishman Tony Foster, lead guitarist of Spiritualized; Australian David Cameron, musical director for Channel 9; and Scotsman Ray Ross, who said the interest in the song had taken them by surprise. It is sung by Molly Mack, the younger sister of Mirren, who starred in the BBC’s The Nest with Martin Compston, and Angus Burns, lead singer of Glasgow band Land Of Rubber Men, while the video is by Jack Hand, a media graduate from the University of Stirling.

Scottish independence: New song 'sends positive message to young people'

Why are you making commenting on The National only available to subscribers? We know there are thousands of National readers who want to debate, argue and go back and forth in the comments section of our stories. We’ve got the most informed readers in Scotland, asking each other the big questions. What should we do with our second vote in 2021? What happens if Westminster says no to indyref2? Unfortunately, though, these important debates are being spoiled by a vocal minority of trolls who aren’t really interested in the issues, try to derail the conversation, register under fake names, and post vile abuse. We’ve had hundreds of emails from you complaining about this, asking us to take steps to ensure that these people aren’t given a platform on our site.
