KLANG: A pilot and his co-pilot escaped with light injuries after the helicopter they were on crash-landed near West Port Pulau Indah here while performing a hovering manoeuvre – the second accident involving helicopters in recent months.
Khairudin Dahlan, 73, and his co-pilot Moithu Kutti Mohamad, 53, were flying the two-seater Robinson R66 Turbine during the incident which caused its tail to snap off.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received a distress call at around 10am yesterday before a fire engine with seven firemen was dispatched to the scene.
He said the aircraft was forced to make a crash-landing in an open area along Jalan PKFZ, West Port Pulau Indah.

Selangor fire and rescue department director Norazam Khamis said pilot Kharudin Dahlan, 73, and his assistant Moithu Kutti Mohamad, 53, suffered injuries to the left hand and minor bruises in the 10am incident.
