Election 2020: We ve not filed any case against EC on Techiman South Parliamentary election – NDC
According to the party, it has not filed any case in the High Court.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the NDC on Thursday, 17 December 2020 and signed by the Bono East Regional NDC Secretary, Mohammed Shamsudeen Ali.
The Bono East NDC indicated that publication by some print media creating the impression that it has “withdrawn a suit brought against the EC from the High court for lack of evidence” is false.
The party stated unequivocally that, it “has not filed any suit in court against the EC on the Techiman South Parliamentary Elections let alone withdrawing same” and urged the “general public to dismiss the said malicious publication with all the contempt it deserves.”

But the only independent MP-elect of Fomena constituency has opted to sit with the NPP in the eighth parliament after the 7 December elections. A court gave the green light on Thursday, December 17, for the final ballot box to be counted after it was snatched and retrieved by one Christian Nukpeta. Provisional results from the final counting show that the NDC polled 13,116 votes beating the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate by 16 votes after he polled 13,100 votes. Meanwhile, the NDC has denied reports that it has filed a case against the Electoral Commission (EC) on the Techiman South Parliamentary election and has withdrawn same.
Mahama to visit Techiman on Wednesday
Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is expected in the Bono East Capital, Techiman, on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. A statement issued by Mr Mohammed Shamsudeen Ali, the NDC Secretary for Bono East, copied to the Ghana News Agency, said upon his arrival Mr Mahama would pay a courtesy call on the Techiman Traditional Council. He would then have “a solidarity visit to the family of those who have lost their lives in the battle to see NDC win power and those who were injured in the same course.”

The Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), will on Wednesday visit the family of those who lost their lives in the post-election violence that erupted in Techiman South during the general polls last week.
At least three people lost their lives in the chaos that broke out in the Techiman South constituency when opposition NDC officials protested the alleged manipulation of figures in favor of the NPP parliamentary candidate.
Ahead of the scheduled visit by the Flagbearer, the leadership of the NDC had visited the Electoral Commission (EC) office in the Techiman South Constituency in the Bono East Region days ago to demand copies of the pink sheets and collation sheet used to declare the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) candidate, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah as the Member of Parliament-elect.
