Oman launches first digital national travel trade booking platform Share Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN), the Sultanate’s executive tourism development arm unveiled VisitOman.om, the first authorized national online booking and information gateway for Oman’s travel trade sector. In its first phase, registration is now open for travel trade partners in international markets together with Oman’s travel and tourism players for future bookings. Envisioned to become a fully integrated digital travel trade ecosystem for the Sultanate, VisitOman.om will serve four overarching objectives: First, to position Oman as a growing tourism destination to global markets. Second, to increase inbound tourism. Third, to introduce an accreditation process for the Omani travel trade stakeholders featured on the platform. And fourth, to boost socio-economic development in Oman.

Agreement signed to boost cultural tourism at Nizwa fort Photo from the signing ceremony (2) SHARE The Ministry of Heritage and Culture (MOHC) today signed an agreement with Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran), to manage historical treasure Nizwa Fort. This agreement marks the first historical site that will be managed by Omran, as part of its aims to enhance sustainable cultural tourism destinations that respect and promote Oman’s rich cultural and authentic heritage.  The agreement was signed by Hassan al Lawati, advisor to the Minister of Heritage and Culture for Heritage Affairs and Mohammed Al Mahruqi, Omran Board Member at The Ministry of Heritage and Culture, in the presence of senior government officials from Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Finance. The agreement  marks the beginning of a new chapter of many historical sites that will be managed by Omran in collaboration with the private sector.
